Incident Report Procedure for Members
In case of incident
During the Event
1. You can report the incident to any member of the NIK staff (list at bottom of page).
2. That staff member will offer accommodations for comfort while discussing the incident (a private room, a quiet corner, etc.).
3. That staff member will either radio or send someone to go get our safety coordinator
4. You can discuss the incident and the NIK safety coordinator will log the incident and discuss options to handle the remainder of the event.
5. All parties involved will have the opportunity to share their version of events with the Safety Coordinator.
6. While NIK strives to focus on conflict resolution, immediate safety concerns may result in a temporary suspension of membership and removal from the event while NIK investigates the issue.
After the Event
7. In cases where the Safety Coordinator and Incident Reportee agree there’s not an immediate safety concern, the Safety Coordinator will submit their report to the NIK core for review at the next core meeting.
8. At the next core meeting the NIK core will review the information gathered by the Safety Coordinator and to determine the best course of action to resolve the incident. Decisions will be made in accordance with NIK’s values, and with transparency for all parties involved.
